ASK D-MAC: How much does a 20-foot long deck sheet weigh?
As shown in the table below, the deck weight depends on the profile and deck gauge, but ranges from 50 pounds for a 26 gauge form deck to over 200 pounds for 16 gauge roof and floor deck.
The roof deck and non-composite form decks include 6” for end laps. Since composite steel deck is butted over supports, sheets are typically exactly 20-foot long.
Consider the deck weight per sheet when ordering your deck to ensure the safety of your crew. Proper lifting techniques are essential to make sure everyone goes home healthy!
